As a retired civil servant, Tom Ray has devoted his time to writing short stories. His specialty is adult, contemporary, realistic fiction, dealing with Washington, the military, suburban life, the South, and growing old. His fiction has been published in New Pop Lit, Penny Shorts, Literary Yard, and other journals. He retired after working thirty-five years in the Washington, D.C., area. He has travelled in Europe and Asia, including extensive stays in Paris. He is the subject of the documentary film El Paso, Vietnam. His interests include history, politics, and the French and Spanish languages.
He currently resides in his hometown of Knoxville with his beautiful wife. His travel these days is primarily to visit his two gorgeous daughters and darling grandchildren in the San Francisco Bay area.
